The main factors that influence the growth and spread of all microorganisms (in our case molds, fungi and algae) are the following: water, temperature and nutrients.
1. Water: In the absence of water, life cannot develop. Consequently, there is no possibility of growth of molds, fungi and algae in the substrates, be they plasters, wood, paints, or coatings of any kind.
2. Temperature: The speed of reproduction of microorganisms is influenced by temperature. Low temperatures slow it down while in the 26-rsquo; range between 20° C and 35° C, the optimal conditions for rapid growth are achieved.
3. Nutrients: In addition to water, microorganisms need nutrients such as: nitrogen, carbon, phosphorus, etc. These substances can be contained in the various substrates, or can be deposited with dirt or atmospheric dust.
1. Sterilizing treatment of all surfaces in the room (even those not contaminated) with BIOCID algaecide and fungicide solution applied with a brush.
2. After at least 24 hours from application, proceed with the mechanical cleaning of the treated surfaces by brushing, scraping or sanding. In case of strong mold concentrations, repeat the treatment.
3. Two coats of washable water-based paint for interiors, highly resistant to mold growth, MUFFANÓ. Alternatively, application of water-repellent, breathable, mold-resistant water-based paint, ACRYLFAST or SANEX, breathable and mold-resistant paint. In the case of chalking or poorly cohesive surfaces, previously apply a coat of fixative all’ water with strong penetration FIXACRIL suitably diluted and wait 6-8 hours.
